Druse Arabs on the Golan Heights held their annual strike Tuesday to protest Israeli annexation of the heights 14 years ago.

Hundreds of police reinforcements were on hand to deal with demonstrations. There were some rock-throwing incidents in Majdal Shams, near the Syrian border.

Some 15,000 Druse and 13,000 Israeli Jews live on the Golan Heights.
