Secretary of State John Foster Dulles will meet tomorrow with Israel Foreign Minister Golda Meir to discuss developments involving the Gaza Strip. Mr. Dulles, upon his arrival here today from Australia, had no comments on the Gaza developments.
Mrs. Meir said, on her arrival here, that it is well known that what happened in the Gaza Strip was not envisaged when she made her United Nations withdrawal statement. She insisted that at that time it was understood that the UN would take over the Gaza Strip and be the only responsible agency in the territory.
The Israel Foreign Minister warned of the gravity and seriousness of the situation, indicating that the situation existing before October 29 was being restored. Mrs. Meir said that Israel intends to exercise its rights in the Strait of Akaba and the Suez Canal.
