Secretary of State John. Foster Dulles will visit neither Israel nor the Arab states on his forthcoming trip to the Middle East and will seek to avoid injection of the Arab-Israel issue in his discussions with Baghdad Pact Foreign Ministers. This was revealed here today by authorities U.S. officials.
The U.S. position is that the Baghdad Pact conference, to be hela in Ankara, Turkey, on Jan. 27 is not an appropriate forum for discussion of the Arab-Israel problem. Mr. Dulles reportedly does not wants his efforts in Ankara mired in the highly complicated and volatile Arab dispute with Israel.
