Dutch war criminal and former SS member Jan Pattist, 59, living in Oviedo, Spain, told a Madrid newspaper he “almost died with laughter” upon learning that Holland has asked Spain for his arrest and extradition. Pattist said he had become a naturalized Spanish citizen in 1967. In the interview, he conceded that he still always adheres to the views of Hitler and National Socialism. Pattist, who in 1946 escaped from prison in Holland to Spain, said he had gone to Spain because he felt attracted to the Franco regime and to the Spanish. “Blue Division” which together with the Germans had fought against the Russians.
