The East German Government, in a memorandum submitted today to the Four Power meeting of foreign ministers dealing with the reunification of Germany, called for the cancellation of all reparations agreements.
The proposal, directed against the West German Government’s agreement with Israel and world Jewish organizations for payment of $822,000,000 in reparations, was tacked away at the bottom of the seven-point document.
Memoranda directed to the parley by the State of Israel and the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany previously urged that extension of reparations and indemnification agreements and legislation to East Germany he made a condition of reunification.
