The Communist East German Radio carried a violent attack on Israel and the West German Republic in its Arab-language broadcasts, accusing the West Germans of arming an “aggressive Israel” and of using their propaganda machine to defend Israeli crimes and aggression.”
The broadcast alleged that ”under the guise of compensation, West Germany is exporting arms ammunition and ships to Israel. The Israeli Navy will soon total 600, 000 tons. “
West Germany has also supplied ammunition to Israel through Turkey, according to the Communist broadcast, has agreed to provide Israel with arms from NATO countries and has agreed to train an Israeli military mission in the use of guided missiles.
