Abba Eban, Israel’s Foreign Minister, conferred here a yesterday with Prime Minister Leator-Pearson and Foreign Minister Paul Martin on Middle East and international problems, and Israeli-Canadian relations.
Mr. Eban reviewed with the Canadian Government officials the situation in the Middle East, the policies of the Great Powers in that area, and United Nations affairs. He also discussed with his Canadian hosts the role of the United Nations Emergency Force in the Middle East in which Canada has a large contingent. Mr. Eban also met with the Acting Minister of Commerce on commercial relations between the two countries.
Canadian Jewish leaders also met with the Israeli Foreign Minister at a luncheon given by Ambassador Avner. Mr. Eban left last night for a flight to London for talks with the British Foreign Secretary and other British officials. He is scheduled to return to Israel Wednesday.
