Anger over France’s arms sales to Libya and other Arab countries has caused Foreign Minister Abba Eban to cancel plans for a stop-over in Paris on his visit to West Germany and The Netherlands next month, informed sources said here today. They said the Israeli diplomat had been expected to visit the French capital. Yesterday in the Knesset he delivered the sharpest attack on France ever made by a member of the Israel Government. He charged that French arms deals with Libya and Iraq were helping the Soviet Union and undermined chances for peace in the Mideast. Mr. Eban was reported to be “indisposed” today. He received at his home a pro-Arab Laborite member of the British Parliament. Christopher Mayhew. Mr. Mayhew is chairman of “The Labor Friends of the Middle East,” a pro-Arab faction in the British Labor Party. No details were available of his talk with Mr. Eban.
