Foreign Minister Abba Eban disclosed last night that “contacts are being maintained with Arab political leaders in every possible way” by Israel. He addressed the press at a meeting in ZOA House here but refused to expand on the subject.
The Foreign Minister said that the Labor Party convention which ended Monday had introduced no new elements Into Israeli policy, which is that Israel is prepared to negotiate peace with the Arabs without any preconditions. He said that while peace prospects were dim at present, “It will come one day” and “we must continue to aspire and speak about peace just as we did about the Jewish State.”
