Israel’s effective resistance to Egypt has freed the Middle East from “the brooding peril of President Nasser’s dictatorship” which had long paralyzed it, Israel Ambassador Abba Eban declared here last night.
Speaking before the Canadian Club of Ottawa, Ambassador Eban said that when Israel’s forces entered the Gaza Strip they destroyed the “legend” of Nasser’s might. The Ambassador compared the parallel developments of Israel and Canada, which he called new nations, and which he said had a bond of understanding and affinity between them.
