The President of the Ecuadorian Republic has issued an order authorizing the immigration of 200 Jewish children from Europe, it was reported here today by the Hias-Ica Emigration Association on the basis of cabled advices received from Ecuador.
The Government of Paraguay has similarly agreed to admit 100 Jewish children, the cable stated.
Argentine consulates in France have been advised by their government to cooperate with local Jewish groups in order to secure, if possible, exit permits for the 1,000 refugee children whom the Argentine Government has decided to admit, a report to the Hias-Ica from Buenos Aires stated. The French authorities, acting under German pressure, have so far refused to permit the children to leave the country.
