Eddie Cantor, the noted screen, stage and radio star, will receive a certificate of award for “humanitarian service” in recognition of his contribution to the success of the 1947 United Jewish Appeal campaign, the U.J.A. announced today.
Notable among Mr. Cantor’s outstanding services in behalf of the United Jewish Appeal this year was his participation as star of a special short film for the campaign, entitled “We Must Not Forget,” which has been instrumental in the raising of substantial funds throughout the country. The award will be presented to Mr. Cantor within the next month at a dinner in his honor.
