A statement issued this afternoon by leaders of the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland said: “While welcoming the reaffirmation of the Tripartite Declaration given by the British Secretary for Foreign Affairs and his pledge that Britain will come to the aid of Israel if she is attacked by an Arab state, we declare that these assurances do not meet Israel’s grave apprehensions.
“We are gravely concerned over the feeling of political and military insecurity which has been enveloping Israel following the creation of new political and military alliances with Arab states while Israel’s interests are not being taken into account.”
