M.G. Kenig, formerly known as Jacob Gremb, editor of the Yiddish-language Communist daily in Paris, “Die Neie Presse,” has been ordered out of France, it was reported here today.
Kenig is a Polish Jew who came to France in 1931 and volunteered for military service when World War II broke out. He was captured by the Germans during the fighting and was a prisoner for five years. In 1948, Kenig was granted naturalization papers, but these were withdrawn the next year on the grounds that he had not become “sufficiently assimilated.”
