Mr. Samuel Isaac Rotstein, the editor of the Orthodox daily “Juedisches Togblatt” here, the organ of the Agudath Israel, has been sentenced to a fortnight’s imprisonment and a fine of 350 zlotys for insulting ex-Deputy Farbstein, the leader of the Polish Mizrachi and President of the Warsaw Jewish Community.
After the elections to the Seym last November, when Deputy Farbstein was defeated, but insisted that he had a claim to the second seat obtained by the Zionist bloc in the elections, which should be resigned in his favour, Mr. Rotstein wrote in his paper about him that “if someone spat in his face, he would say it was raining”.
