Education of Jewish children in Paris reached a new post-war high this year with attendance in full and part-time Jewish schools 10 to 15 percent higher than in 1958.
The record was disclosed today as the schools were closed for the summer holidays. The Consistoire Israelite of Paris reported that more than 5,000 children had attended religious education courses in 23 Jewish centers while almost 2,000 more attended courses sponsored by the Donds Sociale Juive Unife. Attendance at the three Jewish day schools in Paris has tripled during the past four years.
