A renaissance of American Jewish education is taking place today, Dr. Emanuel Gamoran of Cincinnati, educational director of the Commission on Jewish education, said today on his return from a series of Jewish educational association meetings in the East.
Jewish people in this country are developing an intensified Jewish consciousness as a direct result of present world conditions, Dr. Gamoran believes.
He sees an increasing awareness of Jewish values on all sides. “Parents–Jewish adults, in general–are becoming more and more interested in a knowledge of their own past, in an understanding of their present, in a study of what the possibilities are their future. Such an interest gives rise to the need for comprehensive Jewish educational literature and for study circles which would make use of such literature.
