As part of the celebration marking the tenth anniversary of the reopening of its building, the Jewish Educational Alliance has just issued an anniversary Year Book, an eighty-page printed and illustrated booklet telling the history of the organization, describing its activities and detailing the life of a busy and well organized Jewish community. A feature of the main article in the book, “Looking Back,” is the use of excerpts from the annual reports of the institution for the past ten years, showing the development of the institution into an active Jewish center, one of the best known in the country.
The book describes the actual anniversary week program, which began with Anniversary Night November 30th and presented a series of lectures, rallies, dances and athletic programs. On anniversary night, Mayor Walker was the principal speaker.
The Alliance was originally organized in 1912 and its building opened in 1916. In 1918 it was forced to close and remained closed until November 30, 1920, when the present institution had its rebirth.
