The appointment of Edward R. Vajda as national executive director of the American Technion Society was announced today by Maurice M. Rosen of Philadelphia, national president. Mr. Vajda has been a key executive in the nationwide United Jewish Appeal campaigns for more than two decades and is currently its national field director.
Mr. Vajda left the practice of law to engage in Jewish communal service and has been associated in executive capacities with the National Refugee Service and the Joint Distribution Committee, as well as with the UJA. The American Technion Society, a nationwide group composed in the main of engineers, scientists, industrialists and educators, provides financial support and technical guidance to the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, located in Haifa, which has an enrollment of 5,000.
