Egypt filed today a complaint with the United Nations Security Council charging Israel with violation of Egyptian air space on July 23.
The complaint, in a letter to the Security Council president, cited a resolution adopted by the Egyptian-Israel Mixed Armistice Commission on August 5 condemning Israel for “such hostile action.” Israel did not attend the August 5 meeting, held in Gaza, having refused since the 1956 Sinai campaign to do so on grounds that Egyptian aggressions have made the armistice pact null and void.
