A three-day celebration of the 800th birthday of Moses Maimonides, the Jewish philosopher and physician who, after leaving Spain, resided in Egypt, was started today throughout Egypt.
The celebration opened with an official ceremony in the Royal Opera House at which representatives of the government and many foreign diplomats were present. The addresses delivered at the ceremony were broadcast over the radio.
