The Arab papers today carry a dispatch from Cairo, asserting that Egypt is taking steps to concentrate all Arab political refugees in that country. Secret orders have allegedly gone out to frontier guards to admit every “Arab fighter.” The government is reportedly considering extending an invitation to Rashid Ali el Gailani, leader of the pro-Nazi 1941 revolt in Iraq, during which more than 500 Jews were killed. Gailani is now in Saudi Arabia.
According to Cairo reports on the meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers there, no decision was taken yesterday on the question of non-participation in the investigation of the U.N. inquiry committee. Arab sources here believe that the Arab League will probably send a spokesman to the hearings.
