An Egyptian banker and former Government official was today named director of a newly established Industrial Development Bank Services Department of the International Finance Corporation. The IFC is a division of the World Bank.
He is A.G. El-Emary, who served as governor of the Central Bank of Egypt from 1957 to 1960. Prior to that he served in the Egyptian ministries of Finance and Commerce and was Egyptian Finance Minister from 1952 to 1960.
The new department will be responsible for planning financial and technical assistance to help in establishing or expanding privately owned and managed industrial development banks in foreign countries.
