Egyptian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Fawzi said today that if Israel tries to “drive” its shipping through the Suez Canal, Egypt will counter force with force.
Speaking at a United Nations press conference, the Egyptian Minister said that the position of Egypt has not changed–namely, that Egypt has the right to oppose any ship passing through the Suez Canal which is trading with Israel. He said his government would not recognize Israel’s existence.
