Charges of “misdeeds” and “squandermania” in connection with the maintenance of Egyptian forces in Palestine during the Arab-Israel war — which were made on the floor of the Egyptian Senate this week — were answered today by a government spokesman in Cairo. He said the present nationalist government disclaims any responsibility for “misdeeds committed when it was not in power,” Reuters reported from the Egyptian capital.
