Egyptian Jews Facing New Threats to Employment; May Have to Obtain Work Permits

The 50,000 Jews residing in Egypt, including 40,000 who are native born, face further barriers to obtaining employment in the country, it was learned today. The Minister for Social Affairs is reported is reported to have under consideration a new bill ordering “non-Egytians” to obtain a special permit before accopting a job.
