Aneurin Bevan, member of the British Parliament who has been devoting a good deal of his time in his talks in Cairo with Egyptian leaders to advocating Israel-Arab peace, today presented his views to General Naguib, President of Egypt, whom he visited at his home.

Following Mr. Bevan’s departure, President Naguib issued a statement declaring that he assured the British parliamentarian that Egypt harbors “no aggressive designs” against anyone, but pointed out that “Israel must implement the United Nations resolutions on repatriation and compensation of Palestine refugees, so that peace and stability can prevail in the area.” Until this is done, Egypt “is content with the tight Arab economic blockade” against Israel, General Naguib emphasized in his statement.
