One Israeli soldier was killed and another wounded during the night when an Israeli infantry patrol was attacked by Egyptian infiltrators in the Nirim area near the Gaza strip border. A military spokesman here announced that the patrol of three soldiers was attacked, and two of them were wounded.
One of the wounded, and the third soldier, succeeded in reaching safety. But the second wounded man was not found despite an intensive all-night search. Then, this morning, he was found dead, with many head wounds from bullets fired at close range.
