Franz Novak, a former Nazi SS captain, will again be tried here next month on charges of complicity in the murder of 400, 000 Jews, men, women and children during World War II. He was arrested in January, 1961.
Novak, a 53-year-old accomplice of Adolf Eichmann, had been sentenced in 1964 to eight years’ imprisonment. However, he filed an appeal, and the Supreme Court ordered a retrial.
