Eichmann’s Prosecutor Urges More Public Education on Nazi Holocaust

The man who prosecuted Adolf Eichmann called today for a thorough educational campaign in Israeli schools and for the public on the causes and dimensions of the Nazi holocaust which destroyed six million European Jews. Gideon Hausner, a member of the Knesset (Parliament), addressed his appeal to the Yad Vashem, the heroes and martyrs remembrance authority, at a meeting of its 88-member council. The body, which was established as both an archive and a memorial, is having financial difficulties. Katriel Katz, former Israel Consul General in New York, who is chairman of its Executive, said that one economy measure is not to replace retiring staff members.
