Eighteen religious and civil rights groups are backing a new guidebook created to help public schools teach the Bible without breaking the constitutional wall separating religion from state institutions. The American Jewish Congress is among those supporting “The Bible and Public Schools: A First Amendment Guide,” which encourages schools to teach the Bible as literature.
