The National Institutes of Health has awarded a $55,000 grant to the Research Laboratories of Philadelphia’s Albert Einstein Medical Center; it was announced today.
The grant renews for an additional three years NIH support of an investigation into the ability of heparin–an anti-coagulant–to stimulate the body’s natural defense against certain diseases. The investigation is being conducted by Dr. Karl L. Roth, a Medical Center research scientist. Earlier NIH grants supporting the project totaled $110,000.
