The government of the Irish Free State has donated 1,000,000 pounds of canned kosher meat for distribution among Jewish DP’s in European camps, it was announced today.
This gift was decided upon following a visit to Dublin of Chief Rabbi Herzog, of Palestine, who, in his talks with cabinet members, described the plight of Jewish DP’s and emphasized the shortage of kosher foods in the camps. The kosher meat sent by the Eire Government will be distributed among the inmates of camps by the Joint Distribution Committee.
