A proposal for creation of a billion dollar United Nations agency to solve the Arah refugee problem was created today by Dr. Frark Aiken, Minister for External Affairs of the Irish Republic.
Dr. Aiken, who made a similar proposal before the special emergency session of the General Assembly which dealt with the Middle East crisis last August, repeated his proposal today, addressing the United Nations Association.
“I feel very strongly,” said Dr. Alken, “that the greatest running sore in the region is the Arab refugee problem. The United Nation; has a major responsibility with regard to that problem. If the United Nations as a whole were to put up a billion dollars–roughly $1,000 per refugee–we might negotiate a settlement of that problem.
