Eisenhower Names Maxwell Rabb Secretary to Cabinet

President Eisenhower has appointed Maxwell M. Rabb of Boston to the newly created post of Secretary to the Cabinet, it was reported here today. Mr. Rabb was formerly executive assistant to Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr., when Mr. Lodge was a Senator from Massachusetts.

Mr. Rabb’s function under the new set-up will be to prepare an agenda for Cabinet meetings and to take note, during the meetings, of decisions taken by the President and his executive advisors, and to follow up for reports where they are required, In 1953 and 1954 Mr. Rabb was chairman of the Government Workers Division of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater Washington.
