Funeral services were held today for Eitan Belkind who died at the age of 82 in Rishon Lezion. He was one of the last survivors of “Nili,” the Jewish intelligence organization that provided information to the allied forces during World War I when Palestine was under Turkish rule. Belkind and his brother, Naaman, were arrested by the Turks for their activities. Belkind was born in Rishon and was a Deputy Mayor of the town. He was also chairman of Rishon’s Herut chapter.
