Regular El Al flights were scheduled to be resumed tomorrow after striking air crews capitulated to pressure from the Histadrut, Israel’s Labor Federation, and agreed to return to work after being out 17 days.

A special committee of the Histadrut, which had opposed the strike from the outset, accepted a letter signed by the strikers stating their readiness to return to work and to accept Histadrut directives. They walked out during negotiations on a new contract.

El Al officials were not completely satisfied with the agreement, because they had demanded an individual letter from each striker. However, they accepted the Histadrut arrangement. The strike was estimated to have cost the airline about 4, 000,000 pounds ($1,300,000.)
