El Al, the Israeli national airline, carried 21 per cent more passengers to Israel from Britain in the first five months of this year, compared to the same period last year. Advance bookings for the summer are 23 per cent up on last year, and additional flights have been arranged for July and August in addition to the 14 weekly regular scheduled flights from London to Tel Aviv. This reflects a healthy British interest in Israel as a holiday resort.
