Dr. Emanuel Neumann, vice-president of the Zionist Organization of America, was unanimously elected president of the Palestine Foundation Fund (Keren Hayesod) at the 25th annual meeting of the Fund held last night at its headquarters here. He succeeds Judge Bernard A. Rosenblatt.
Louis J. Schwefel, honorary secretary, presenting a financial report, stated that for the too month period Jan. 1, 1946, to Oct. 31, 1946, the Fund transmitted to and expended in Palestine a total sum of $12,000,000 to cover the needs of colonization and immigration. Plans for the participation of the Fund, which is a constituent of the United Palestine Appeal, in next year’s campaign of the United Jewish Appeal were discussed at the Board meeting which immediately followed the annual meeting of the Fund.
