In response to a call for help from 130 religious educational and charity institutions of Palestine, which are independent of Zionist funds, a conference of prominent rabbis and laymen in America, called by the Federated Council of Palestine Institutions, decided unanimously to launch immediately an emergency campaign for funds to forestall the catastrophe that threatens these institutions, it was announced today.
The Union of Orthodox Rabbis, Mizrachi, Agudath Israel, Federation of Palestine Jews and many local congregations were represented at the conference which was held at the Broadway Central Hotel on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Hirsch Manischwitz.
