Leadrs of the Jewish community of Brownsville and East New York will meet at a special conferece tomorow night at local Zionist headquarters, 1848 Pitkin avennue, Brooklyn, to confer on the means of bringing immediate relief to the German Jewish refugees by settlement in Palestine, Samuel A. Telsey, chairman of the Local division of the American Palestine Campaign, announced yesterday.
Jew of that section will be asked to lend active support to the $2,000,000 National Emergency man of the Brooklyn district of the Palestine drive, will be the principal speaker at the conferece.
Describing the aims of the meeting, Mr. Telsey declared that it had been called to ” arounse Brownsville Jewry to the grat responsibility that has fallen on the shoulders of world Jewry as a result of the catastrophe in Jewish life in Germany. If American Jewy readily responded with moral and financial aid to the Jews of Europe in distress in the past, it must redouble its efforts in behalf of German Jewry.” Only in Palestine can the German Jew find a permanent shelter and home, he said.
