The entire Jewish populations of Poland, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Tripolitania and Yemen will emigrate from those countries in 1950, I. Shai, director-general of the Israel Ministry of Immigration, predicted here at a press conference.

Mr. Shai, who just returned from a tour of Europe and the United States, reported that 300 Jews are leaving France for Israel every month. These Jews, he said, together with some 6,000 from North Africa are now waiting at Marseilles for passage to the Jewish state.

This coming year, he added, will see the arrival in Israel of 20,000 of the 45,000 Jews remaining in Germany. It will also witness the migration of 30,000 to Israel of Poland’s remaining 60,000 Jews. They will pour into the new state at the rate of 2,500 a month, Mr. Shai estimated.
