Emile Berliner, Inventor of Telephone Transmitter. Celebrates 75th Birthday

Emile Berliner. noted Jewish inventor of the telephone transmitter, the gramophone and the talking machine disc record celebrated his 75th birthday on Thursday.

Mr. Berliner is now engaged in a series of experiments for the invention of “acoustic tiles,” said to be destined to revolutionize interior architecture By means of them the hearing facilities in public gathering places will be vastly improved, it is stated.

During the present year, which is the golden jubilee of the telephone, Mr. Berliner’s indispensable contribution to this instrument of modern civilization was recalled. Without his invention, it is said, the telephone would never have been practical.
