Eminent Jewish Scholars of United States Receive Guggenheim Fellowships

Dr. David Simon Blondheim, professor of Romance philology at the Johns Hopkins University, who was among the thirty-seven new fellows appointed by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation for further study and research, is the author of “Les Parlers Judeo-Romano et la Vetus Latina,” for which he was recently honored by the Academy of Inscriptions and Belle Lettres of the Institute of France.

According to an announcement Dr. Blondheim was appointed to gather material for a series of works on the use of the Romance languages among the Jews of the Middle Ages. His work under the auspices of the Foundation will continue the study commenced in his book.
