Emir Abdullah, Arab ruler of Transjordan, who is now on a visit to Jerusalem, last night received a number of newspapermen to whom he expressed the hope that Palestine, Transjordan and Syria will be merged after the war into one state. He also expressed the opinion that Jews would do better if they forget the Balfour Declaration.
“I believe that it would be advisable for the Jews to return to their pre-Mandate status and make an attempt to enjoy the hospitality for which the Arabs are so well known in history,” he said.
