Incendiarism as a method of Endek (Nationalist) terrorism against Jews was revealed today as reports from various parts of the country told of damage to Jewish property by arson.
Several persons were arrested in Zamocz on suspicion of having set a fire that destroyed the entire Jewish quarter of the town. The arrests threw doubt on the previous theory that the fire had originated from a defective stove in a Jewish bakery.
A Jewish-owned house was destroyed by fire at the vacation resort town of Otwock. An incendiary blaze razed a Jewish-owned farm at Rembielec in the Czenstochowa district.
Meanwhile, at Busk, in East Galicia, Endeks demolished Jewish shops and smashed the windows of a Jewish house after a report had been spread that Jews stoned a Christian procession. It was later proved that the stones were thrown by gypsies.
The Jewish Youth Organization in Warsaw decided to abandon their annual festivities yesterday on the occasion of the Spring festival of Lag B’Omer to avoid attacks by Endeks. The traditional streets processions of youths returning from trips to the country were not held.
A new anti-Semitic party, the “Political Camp Warta,” was registered with the Government commissariat. It was founded by the editor of Warta, an anti-Semitic newspaper.
