Jewish circles here are in mourning at the sudden death of Mrs. Joseph Hertz, wife of Chief Rabbi Joseph Hertz. She became ill following an ear operation from which she had not yet entirely recovered, but her condition was not considered serious. Mrs. Hertz was a graduate of an American university and was very prominent in communal affairs. She was president of the Grocery Relief Fund, Domestic Training School for Girls in Jerusalem, and active in the work of the London Jewish Hospital.
