The Board of Jewish Deputies, composed of representatives of Jewish organizations and congregations in the United Kingdom, will be officially represented at the Federation of English Zionists.
A decision to this effect, marking the official affiliation of that representative body of Aglo-Jewry with the Zionist movement, was adopted at Sunday’s session of the Board. The session was the first since the recent election of new delegates of the various bodies. In these elections the Zionists scored a considerable victory. It was also declared that the decision is to be viewed in connection with the forthcoming participation of Anglo-Jewish bodies and particularly the Board of Deputies in the extended Jewish Agency for Palestine. D’Avigdor Goldsmid was re-elected president of the Board.
Steps were also decided to be taken for the proper celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the existence of the Joint Foreign Committee, the agency of British Jewry which acts for the protect of Jewish rights abroad. The work of the Committee was started in 1878. A commission was appointed to are range the details of the celebration.
