Ephraim Deinard, Hebrew author and bibliographer, died yesterday at his home in White Plains at the age of 84. For 52 years he had been gathering Hebrew manuscripts and books and had himself written 46 Hebrew works. He was the founder of one of the earliest Hebrew publications in the United States, the weekly, “Halome”.
Many of the Hebrew libraries in the world have been supplied with Hebrew manuscripts and curios by Mr. Deinard, who also gathered the Schiff collection now in the library of Congress. A collection of Hebrew curios by him is in the Smithonian Institute.
