Ernst Lehmann, the prominent banker and economist, died here of the age of 77. Arriving in Palestine from Germany in 1935, he joined the Angle-Palestine Bank management, rising to the top office of chairman of Board of Directors. He was also head of the State Loans Authority and issued the first paper money when the State of Israel was founded.
